Second to the New Year, September always seems to bring with it the promise of change. Maybe it’s the change of season, or the new academic year, there always seems to be an air of purpose.

This month, therefore, we are sharing with you some changes of our own at Buckland Timber.

Firstly, we’d like you to join us in welcoming Rhys and Flynn to the team. Rhys, who joined us from a previous design role, is a Draughtsman. With a degree in industrial design from Loughborough University, Rhys uses his skills in 3D modelling to help us communicate project designs through visual rendering, as well as helping with some project management work.

Flynn, who joined us from the University of Sheffield having studied Architectural Engineering, works in the structural engineering side, creating structural calculations and drawings, as well as estimating, quoting and being involved with some projects in their later stages.

Both Flynn and Rhys joined us earlier in the year, and having them support our customers with detailed calculations, designs, renders and projects, has been great. We’d like to thank them particularly in helping us work through our increased workload and high level of enquiries we’ve received this year – their hard work and enthusiasm has made a positive impact in turnaround and customer service.

Secondly, to continue improving our response rates and develop our team further, we have created a new role of Operations Manager, for which we are currently recruiting. The Operations Manager will improve the forward planning of design, production and communication with customers and be responsible for projects from point of order to delivery or installation, the overall direction of employees and subcontractors and developing and monitoring processes.

We are also hiring a new Factory Operative, to help with the manufacture of glulam beams and structures at our factory.

You can find further information and application details of both roles here, and if you have any questions do get in touch.
